One of the buyers that paid $80m for Sydney’s Manly Wharf has now listed his Byron Shire beachfront with award-winning rchitectural plans for a futuristic home.
Brisbane-based developers Adam Flaskas and Paul Henry bought the tired wharf complex in June and have promised to give it a major overhaul, transforming it into a “family friendly, sustainable and cultural entertainment precinct”.
Now Adam, founder and director of Howard Smith Wharves, and his wife, Ruby, have listed “one of Australia’s most remarkable beachfront acreages” that’s “unrivalled in space, privacy and prestige” via Byron agent Kim Jones. The price guide is $12m.

Since buying the 5.3ha beachfront site at 37A Byron St New Brighton, which is 21km north of Byron Bay, for $7.5m in 2021 according to records, the couple have commissioned architect Rob Mills to design a residence that’s described as “a visionary future home design unique in its geometry, scale and luxury”.
The council-approved plans, which show a series of circular pavilions, were the “Gold Winner” in the 2023 London Design Awards.
The central living pavilion includes a living and dining area with two separate kitchens that flow to the main bedroom wing, which includes a luxurious ensuite, walk in wardrobe and circular study.

The plans show a bedroom pavillion with four bedrooms with ensuites. There’s also a guest pavillion with two bedrooms with ensuites.
Another pavillion features four bedrooms with ensuites, and a day spa zone with steam room and outdoor spa, along with a living room and gym centred around an internal courtyard,
Connected by curved hallways, the guest pavilion offers two bedrooms with ensuites.
And best of all is the circular pool pavilion, with its outdoor kitchen, living and dining area overlooking the freshwater pool.
Then landscaped pathways through manicured lawns and lush gardens lead to the white sandy beach.
The incredible property comes with a five-car garage.
