Important questions to ask yourself before you rent a home for a party
Asking yourself these questions before you choose a home rental can help you make sure you don’t overlook anything important as you select a venue:
What type of home am I looking to rent?
Peerspace home rentals range from apartments and lofts to standard-sized houses to enormous mansions, as well as everything in between. You might not have a specific type of home in mind before you begin your search, but if you have a preference, be sure to limit your Peerspace search results to the kind of space you’re looking for (we’ll explain how to narrow down your search in more detail in the last section of this blog post). If you are unsure where to begin, you can also start with the “Browse Spaces” tab on the Peerspace homepage to get an idea of what’s available in your area.
Where and when am I planning a party?
Make sure you know where you’re planning a party—at least the general area—before you start searching. Once you know where you’re searching, you can use the interactive map tool to search in a certain area or region, zooming in and out depending on how specific you’d like to get with your location-based search.
In addition, you don’t have to know the date or time of your party before you start looking for a venue, but you do have a date/time in mind, it can help to narrow down your search if you only look for spaces that will be available during that time frame. This also avoids the disappointment of finding what seems like the perfect rental, and then realizing it won’t be available on the date or at the time of your party.
What amenities do I want or need?
Are there specific amenities that you’d like to have at your party? You can filter your search to only show spaces with amenities like decks, fireplaces, grills, gazebos, fire pits, libraries, and other features. Or if you have something specific in mind, you can type a relevant keyword into the search bar so you only retrieve listings that mention that word/phrase in their descriptions. For instance, let’s say you really want to have a trampoline at your party. Enter “trampoline” in the keyword search to find all the listings in your chosen area that mention trampolines.
How to rent a home for a party using Peerspace
Now that you have a clearer idea of what you’re looking for in a party venue, here’s exactly how to use Peerspace to rent out a home for your party!
Start by navigating to the Peerspace homepage, and input the activity/event you’re planning (in this case, a party) as well as your desired venue location into the search bar. At this step of the search process, you can also specify a particular date and time if you already have these nailed down. Click “Search” to receive a list of all relevant venue options in your area.
Next, you’ll want to limit your search to homes, as you’ll probably see all kinds of different venues in your initial set of search results. To do so, click the “More filters” button at the top of the search results page, scroll down to the “Space Type” section, and check off the kinds of spaces you’d be open to renting (such as “Apartment,” “House,” “Mansion,” and so forth). While you have these optional filters open, you can also limit your search results based on included indoor and outdoor spaces, style, amenities, keywords, availability of instant booking, and more.
