For as little as five figures, there are some property cheapies to be found across Australia right now – but to turn these bargains into beauties will require a bit of blood, sweat and tears.
Many of these rough diamonds advertised for $100,000 or less are found within rural and regional areas, and some have an asking price as tiny as $69,000.
From partially renovated homes to those with strong links to a town’s history, and some in dire need of a seriously dedicated renovator, these are the cheapest houses on the market right now.
70 Darling Street, Bourke, New South Wales

“There was a young couple that bought it with the idea of renovating it,” selling agent Sharon Dickson from Schute Bell Property said.
“They started renovating, they got the kitchen done and put a couple of walls up, and then everything came to a standstill.
“Look, it is a bargain if you like, but there is still plenty of work, probably $50,000 to $60,000 minimum to be spent on it.”
