Meh, everyone focusing on the irrelevant bit because it suits our biases, but it’s basically insignificant. Putting that boondoggle aside, most other stuff he said is correct:
1. Both the Porsche and the 1M are better cars if you value a tactile experience above everything else. Not a new take. Of course, the former costs twice as much and the other is 11 years old.
2. Because of the different prices in the UK, the 4 cylinder Cayman may be the better deal for the money if tactile is all your care about. (The M2 is probably faster on track than the 4 cyl, but that wasn’t what this video was about.)
3. The M2 is the superior daily driver, with more space, comfort, and trunk.
4. The M2’s suspension is far better sorted and capable than the M1, but that also reduces the fun factor on public roads. Again, not a new take.
5. The nut puncher in the carbon bucket seats impedes pedal work. I agree with that personally, and decided not to get carbon for that reason. The Porsche seats are great, the M1 seats are not.
Overall, this seems to be in line with every other review, I don’t see any hot takes here.
