A PENTHOUSE spanning more than 1000 sqm on one level has hit the market in Brisbane, with $20m price hopes, after a string of sky home sales across the city so far this year.
Retired Brisbane company director Howard Stack and wife Hilary are spending more time on the Gold Coast, so they are selling their riverfront Newstead apartment that they bought in 2008 for a record at the time of $14.25m.
The penthouse spans a whopping 1060 sqm over one level.

The four-bedroom and five-bathroom penthouse at 250/1 Newstead Tce, Newstead, includes a sauna, swimming pool and wine cellar.
It is being marketed by Ray White’s Matt Lancashire and Place New Farm’s Sarah Hackett, with expressions of interest closing on May 30.

According to Place Estate Agents, penthouse sales in Brisbane have jumped 350 per cent since 2017.
This year alone, four penthouse deals in excess of $10m have been inked so far.
The highest price paid for an apartment in Brisbane was achieved in March, when the penthouse in ‘Argyle’ by Tom Dooley Developments settled for $16.52m.

The two storey, 700 sqm sky home at 49 Maxwell Street, New Farm, sold to a local businessman for the eye-watering price.
In February, Domino’s Pizza boss Don Meij was revealed as the buyer of the penthouse in Cavcorp’s ‘Luminare’ project in Newstead for $12.95m or $24,000 per square metre.
In January, a local couple paid $15.75m for the penthouse off-the-plan in Spyre Group’s boutique Moray House project in Moray St, New Farm.

The penthouse spans 800 sqm across two levels, and will feature its very own sky garage. The sale equates to nearly $20,000 per sqm.
Spyre also recently sold the penthouse in its Arc Residences development in Toowong for $13.65m.
