A century-old Perth Hills residence named Nyanya after the creek running through it has been painstakingly renovated in the 14 years its owners have called it home.
But with their children all grown, owners Jacqui and David Lee-Steere have made the decision to place their 1920s Darlington home at 19 Mofflin Avenue on the market.
“We’ve done a lot of work,” Mrs Lee-Steere told realestate.com.au. “It’s taken 10 years, it was kind of a work in progress.
“It had an extension on it that was done in the ‘80s and we knocked that down and built a two-storey extension and then renovated all of the existing original house.

The elegant two-storey, five bedroom, three bathroom home is set on a sprawling 4810sqm parcel of land at the end of a cul-de-sac.
A Juliette balcony, dressing room and spacious ensuite are features of the second floor master suite, while the children’s wing, on the same level, also includes a games room and another balcony.
Handmade turquoise subway tiles, granite benchtops and black cabinetry are elements of the eye-catching kitchen.

Other luxe features include a sunroom, a below ground pool, a study nook, media room, and a powered shed.
Earnshaws Real Estate agent Shirley Williams said the home successfully blends modern with the old, with the stonework a real standout
“Especially when you walk down the driveway and look up at it you’ve got the stonework and the old sort of windows …..its lovely and the age of it really stands out, but you can see that it’s been well looked after and well-loved,” she said.

A family seeking a tree change or a multi-generational family would suit the home, Mrs Lee-Steere said.
“I remember the day we moved in and I walked in there, and it’s giving me goose bumps now, I had this incredible sense that it was home,” she said.
“Our kids just grew up being free you know, we didn’t have to worry, they could ride their bikes on the trail… hang out with mates and build a fort by the creek.
“So I think for families, it would be fantastic if you really want that tree change for your kids.”

The home is being sold with a price guide of low to mid $2 million.
