Abbey Holmes and husband Keegan Brooksby purchased a home in Melbourne just days after their star-studded wedding.
Channel 7 sports presenter Abbey Holmes and her ex-footballer husband Keegan Brooksby have bought their first home together in Melbourne just days after their A-list wedding.
In addition to her work as a football commentator, Holmes also played for the Adelaide Crows’ AFLW premiership side and was a contestant on Australian Survivor.
Hailing from Adelaide, the TV star wed former Hawthorn player Brooksby in a star-studded Northern Territory ceremony last week attended by the likes of fellow AFL commentators Luke Hodge and Brian Taylor, as well as Collingwood star Mason Cox.

Less than a week later, the couple also purchased a four-bedroom house in Melbourne’s bayside area.
Public records show the pair paid $1.45m for the beachside pad following its auction on Saturday after it was listed with a $1.29m-$1.4m asking price.
“Honestly, who buys a house and gets married in the space of five days?” Holmes said.
“It will certainly go down as one of the best weeks of our lives. We had been planning the wedding since January, but had been looking for a house for a number of years … the auction just happened to be the Saturday following the wedding.”

While Holmes owns a property in Darwin, she and Brooksby were renting in Richmond prior to their bayside purchase.
“We had been looking for a while and found it quite hard because we work and travel on weekends so can’t really spend a lot of time at open inspections,” Holmes said.
The couple decided to engage buyer’s agent and Industry Insider Property founder Andrew Date to help them secure the home.
“We love the bayside feel, it’s so relaxed,” the sports broadcaster added.
The home offers plenty of natural light.
“We had been looking at a number of different suburbs across Melbourne but for us, as soon as we started looking in the area it just felt different.”
The pair are also hoping to embark on an “incredible” renovation of the house and have already begun the planning process.
“Keegs and I are so pumped to be back closer to the water, so we are looking at total beach house, white, bright, timber kind of vibes,” said Holmes.

She and Brooksby competed against two other buyers at the property’s auction last weekend.
It passed in under the hammer before the high-profile couple placed a successful offer afterwards.
“We are so elated with what 2023 has brought us and grateful to be sending the year off with a bang,” Holmes added.
“A seven-week honeymoon is coming up once the AFLW grand final has wrapped up so it’s such an exciting end to the season.”
