54 Park St, Moonee Ponds, could double the suburb’s house price record.
Former Australian soccer player Ivan Kelic is looking to score a record-breaking goal for his Moonee Ponds “labour of love”, listed with a lofty $20m-$22m price tag.
If it sells within the asking range, the 54 Park St pad will double the suburb’s current house price record, set by the $10.75m sale of 36 Ardmillan Rd in 2018.
Stretching across a sizeable 2284sq m block, the property has been owned by ex-Melbourne Knights striker Kelic, who now heads up the property development division of construction firm Parkside Group, and his family for the past 13 years.

McDonald Upton Essendon partner Joe Zucco said the owners had since completed a glamorous renovation at the 1880s-built home, set across three levels.
“Homes like this on this size of land would go for $40-$50m on the other side of town (such as Toorak),” Mr Zucco said.
“It’s a one-off opportunity that doesn’t come up very often … it’s a tightly held area.”
The property is owned by former Melbourne Knights striker Ivan Kelic.
A home gym and cinema part of the package.
The property underwent a glamorous renovation.
Outdoor entertaining, perfect for summer.
The dwelling is packed with high-end features including a home cinema, gym, solar-heated swimming pool and spa, tennis court, and marble finishes throughout.
It also comes with a spacious, covered outdoor entertaining area with a built-in barbecue kitchen overlooking the alfresco precinct.
Mr Zucco said the property was already attracting international interest and had also been inspected by buyers living in Melbourne’s blue-chip southeast who have business ties to the Moonee Ponds area.
“The high quality of the finish is unsurpassed, it’s the complete real estate package with land and location – Park St is one of the best known streets in Moonee Ponds,” he said.
Great for working from home.
It still retains period features such as decorative ceilings and bay windows.
The property has a $20m-$22m price tag.
“You’ve also got a completely renovated product, it’s resort-style living with a very classy finish.”
The agent added that the home would also likely appeal to young families due to its proximity to local schools.
“The owners were very meticulous with their attention to detail,” he said.
“It has been a labour of love and they tossed up if they would sell but for them, it gives the opportunity to now potentially live overseas.”
Expressions of interest for the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom residence close at 12pm on December 22.
