A “Brighton-Toorak look” house designed by the architect who renewed the Great Ocean Road’s iconic Pole House is up for grabs in Melbourne’s west.
The market around Point Cook has seen a swath of glamorous listings and mega sales in the past 12 months, including two new benchmarks set for the suburb.

Among them is a luxury four-bedroom home at 41 Sanctuary Lakes South Boulevard, which has hit the market with a $3.65m-$3.85m asking price after selling for a record-breaking $3.4m last March.
That benchmark has since been surpassed with the $4.16m sale of 28 Heron Way, Point Cook, with another sale nearby coming within $60,000 of the sum indicating the area’s top end property market is on the rise.
Established Property Point Cook director Fadi Saad has the listing after leading the sale last year.
“We have some early interest from people who missed out the first time it sold,” Mr Saad said.
“It’s one of those houses everyone in the estate knows … it’s quite striking and it has that Brighton-Toorak look about it.”
Award-winning architect Frank Marioli, known for his work on the Great Ocean Road’s iconic Pole House, designed the lavish home.
Upstairs, there are three spacious bedrooms, each with an ensuite, including the main which also has a gas fireplace, dual walk-in wardrobes and two balcony entrances.
A fourth bedroom with built-in wardrobes and an ensuite joins a stylish kitchen and open-plan living and dining room downstairs.
Floor-to-ceiling windows provide an abundance of natural light throughout the home, which stretches across a 634sq m allotment.

It also offers unobstructed views of the lake at the rear of the property that boasts a private pier.
Other high-end amenities include about 500sq m of imported marble both inside and outside, plus an outdoor kitchen with a built-in bar, deep-fryer, commercial fridge and teppanyaki grill.
The interior kitchen is also decked out with glamorous features, including custom-made joinery, a butler’s pantry and marble island bench with “waterfall edges”.
“There’s Italian travertine marble throughout the entire property,” Mr Saad added.
“It has multiple living zones and is just very high in quality and luxe fittings, with city views and expansive lake views.”
Mr Saad said the current vendors lived in Docklands and purchased the Sanctuary Lakes pad last year as a “getaway home” with hopes to eventually move in permanently.
Now, they’re selling it due to a change of plans.
“It will suit executive-style, family buyers as it comes with all the requirements,” he said.
“I think there’s a high chance it could attract local buyers upsizing and upgrading. But we’ve had a few calls from interstate as well, mainly from Sydney … (they) think this is a cheap buy.”
If the home sells within its asking range, it will be the third priciest in the suburb.
The No. 2 position was notched earlier in February when a house at 29 Greg Norman Drive sold for $4.1m.
