From mobile apps to registration websites, every event needs something different to meet different objectives. The Gabelli School of Business required an event management solution that was user-friendly and engaging to their younger audience of incoming students.
Mobile App
The Gabelli School of Business’s mobile app was fully branded to their specifications, featuring their colors, logo, backgrounds, and more.
Campus Map
The campus map allowed students to see not only the immediate Business School, but the surrounding New York City area. With helpful stars on the map for sights to see, building locations, subfloors, and floorplans, this was an important feature.
Session Check-in
Session check-in functionality allowed the university to track which students were attending which sessions, in real-time. In this instance, they opted to use barcodes instead of QR codes. Stova’s flexibility assisted them with this change.
Networking
The networking section of the mobile app facilitated new friendships and relationships across orientation. Students clicked on the app and they could search for profiles nearby. This was on of the most successful pieces of this custom build, with over 2,000 network matches created out of 271 registrants logging into the app.
Photo Sharing
Students were encouraged to post photos as they explored their new campus.
Places/Maps
Here, like for the Campus Map, this section detailed all happenings in the surrounding area. The school’s incoming students were largely international – including a map of New York City and the general surroundings gave the students peace of mind. They knew, at all times, where they were in relation to the student buildings and their peers.
Conference Bag
During sessions, the students were given downloads and documents. They were also able to take notes about their sessions throughout the day within the app. The Conference Bag created a digital file for the students to email to themselves after the event.
In addition to these features, the app also included a Frequently Asked Questions microsite, orientation information with custom event logos, and search capabilities.
