Tiffany and Co. is set to launch its new Pokémon capsule collection in collaboration with contemporary artist Daniel Arsham and entertainment franchise Pokémon.
The new collection is designed in Arsham’s “Future Relics” aesthetic, where he reimagines everyday objects as archaeological discoveries from an “imagined future”.
It is also inspired by Arsham’s exhibition in Japan, A Ripple in Time, which features a variety of Pokémon works of art “meant to evoke the passage of time”.
The collection will feature nine jewellery designs, from pendants to necklaces. The pendant will be made of oxidised sterling silver and will feature diamond accents highlighting one of six Pokémon, including Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, Jigglypuff, Cubone or Mew.
Inspired by the “highly collectable nature” of the Pokémon brand, Tiffany designers created an oxidised sterling silver necklace with diamond accents featuring all six Pokémon.
Playing on Pikachu’s “iconic” yellow colour, two different size iterations of necklaces, one in small and the other in a larger pendant size, are available in 18K yellow gold with diamond accents.
The oxidised sterling silver designs are packaged in a Tiffany and Arsham Studio and Pokémon Blue Box, while a Tiffany Blue® Poké Ball houses the gold Pikachu pendants.
The Tiffany & Arsham Studio & Pokémon capsule collection will be available at the Tiffany & Co. Landmark in New York City, Omotesando store in Tokyo and Tiffany.com in North America and Japan this December.
Arsham said: “With my latest project with Tiffany, we’ve recontextualized Pokémon, a nod to my 2022 A Ripple in Time project in Tokyo, to orchestrate a new narrative. With Pokémon and Tiffany, itself, there’s a sense of cultural permanence about each.”
