If you’re into skincare, then the chances are that you’ll already have heard of Linda Meredith. One of the best facialists in London, Linda has been in the beauty industry for over 40 years. Here’s our review of Linda Meredith products and Linda Meredith’s skincare tips to help you to achieve glowing skin.
Linda Meredith Natural Algae Facial Review
These days, Linda focuses on the business side of her company leaving patients in the very capable hands of Chloe, her expertly trained facialist. Linda’s skincare salon is located on the first floor of a townhouse in Walton Street, one of the most exclusive areas in Kensington.
The discrete location suits the clientele, many of whom are celebrities. We didn’t bump into Sienna Miller, Rosamund Pike, Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Colin Firth or Penelope Cruz, but they are all reputed to have tried these bespoke facials.
Celebrities are in the public eye and scrutinized from all angles. The clinic doesn’t do aggressive treatments such as very strong peels and lasers, or heavy fillers. The reason is that they can damage capillaries and tissues. Similarly, retinol may thin the top layers of your skin.
Once upstairs, you’ll find a light and airy treatment room. Chloe is charming and makes you feel right at home.
After asking me some questions about my skin condition and desired outcome, she began the Natural Algae bespoke facial. Tailored to your skin’s needs, it is designed to rebalance and detoxify and rebalance the skin and to counter the effects of air pollution.

This effective treatment aims to remove toxins and to strengthen the skin layers. Lasting one hour and thirty minutes, the Natural Algae Facial includes 3 main steps.
Before beginning on these, Chloe did some extraction on my face, particularly around the nose and chin areas. An advantage of Linda’s clinic is that it’s one of the rare places that still does extraction. Most therapists are no longer trained in it, but if done gently it’s really effective in improving your skin’s appearance.
Next, Chloe began the 3 steps of the Natural Algae Facial:
1. Natural Algae Massage Gel
- Based on alginic acid, brown algae and natural polysaccharides.
- Detoxifies and re-balances the skin, reducing the appearance of blemishes.
- Intensely hydrates, purifies and refines skin, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.
2. Natural Algae Mask
- The brown algae acts as a delivery system for calcium and sodium ions.
- Contours, lifts, revitalizes the skin.
- Firms, plumps and instantly hydrates.

In my case, Chloe also treated my skin with several minutes of infra-red light in between steps 2 and 3. This helps to trigger the cell renewal process, and also reduces inflammation.
3. Activator Liquid
- Rich in hyaluronic acid, lactic acid and red algae.
- Promotes hydration, while plumping out lines and wrinkles.
- Balances the PH-value of the skin, evens out skin tone, lifts and firms.
My skin was left glowing and plumped up after this relaxing facial. It’s still looking good, weeks later!

Linda Meredith Skincare Tips
On our previous visit to her salon, Linda gave us a lot of great skincare tips and we were impressed by her down-to-earth attitude. She also debunked quite a few skincare myths, as you’ll see.
1. Drinking more water may not help your skin
However, it’s essential to keep skin moisturized, so a hydrating mist is highly recommended. Water based moisturizers also work well, and don’t hesitate to reapply if you feel that your skin needs it.
When taking an aspirin or antibiotics, your skin may be more dehydrated, so keep an eye on it. Linda says that alcohol in moderation is not the worst enemy of skin, which is rather a relief ;-).
Even sunlight is alright in small doses, just remember the following skincare tips.
2. Reapply sun cream every couple of hours
Before visiting, our skin was somewhat uneven and blotchy with congestion around the nose and chin and dry patches on our forehead. Linda really had her work cut out! It’s a pretty street with some very upmarket boutiques and restaurants. Linda opened the salon to help clients whose skin is affected by modern day life.
Preservatives, chemicals and hormones have taken their toll on skin. Most existing skincare products don’t help all that much, focusing as they do on dry, combination or oily skin.
That’s not to say that overall skincare types don’t exist but a client may have a range of issues at any given time.

3. Vary your skin care according to your skin’s needs
Don’t use the same cream, day in day out. Depending on its needs, adapt the products that you use. A fish oil supplement may be helpful in Winter if you suffer from dry skin.
Linda has developed an alternative skincare method, addressing skin problems rather than types. It involves layering, so each product in her range can overlap, increasing effectiveness. Thankfully, unnecessary chemicals like parabens have been removed.
4. Don’t get worried about one line or spot
Since if you do, you may resort to extreme methods to get rid of it when in fact, a spot may disappear if you leave it, and you can plump out fine lines with increased hydration. As for expression lines, they’re not related to ageing and can add character to a face.
5. Double cleanse your skin
Linda recommends a thorough double cleansing to remove all skin impurities. After this, her therapists thoroughly examine your skin to assess your skin problems.
Many of Linda’s clients have issues with dairy products, and she suggests that if your skin is oily, avoid dairy as much as possible. It’s also worth bearing in mind that:
6. Eating large amounts of fruit may cause breakouts
Fruit may give you spots, particularly in the chin area. Berries can be culprits so try cutting them out or reducing the amount that you consume for a week, to see if it makes any difference. Of course, it’s best to have regular facials and to carry on the good work at home.
7. Look after your skin at home
Linda sells a complete range of products for home use, including her famous oxygen mask, which is discreet enough to be worn on flights. Linda Meredith V-Tox is a natural alternative to BOTOX.
For those with rosacea, Linda says to be wary of prescription steroid creams which may thin your skin and destroy collagen. She recommends her NET-45 Beauchamp Edition cream to deal with the issues with no side effects. This rich and luxurious moisturizer is ideal for dry or mature skin. Use it in the evening or as a rejuvenating mask once a week.
It’s also worth trying relaxation methods as the cheeks are related to the lungs and any emotional or respiratory stress may accentuate your problems. For general redness, it may be genetic or a result of broken capillaries.
Both cases can be treated with Linda’s Phyto 4 product, and capillaries can also be helped by diathermy electrolysis.
