Today I’m finding the creative artist in me with my flowering planters. Putting together my planters is a labor of love. The joy I get from creating these pots is similar to the joy I get when I work in my art journal. Now I sit on my deck, drink tea, and gaze at them during my afternoon prayer time. What a blessing!
My Flowering Planters for 2023
My mom, sister, and I went to get our flowers during the first week of May. It was a little early but the weather turned out great and there has been no need to cover them or bring them in the garage since then. We went to our favorite place for flowers – Pesche’s. Their selection is unbelievable and their geraniums and begonias are the best in town in my opinion. These pots above are on the west side of my house so they get a ton of sun. Which is why I added some hibiscus plants to the center pot. My stunning hibiscus tree (below center) is to the left of these pots. It’s a hybrid hibiscus tree. I fell in love with the beautiful colors of the blooms. Michael bought me the planter for Mother’s Day. Isn’t the color so gorgeous?
My Love for Begonias
My love affair with begonias continues. They need to be in mostly shade which is why they are on the backside of my house in several planters. The colors that they come in are breathtaking. The groupings of planters below these begonias are on different parts of my back deck.
My Front Porch Planters and Baskets
The other place I get my plants from is Johansen Farms. I always get my baskets there because their quality is amazing. They last all summer and fall. This year I also got elephant ears for the two pots which are on each side of our front door. Andrea from Living On Cloud Nine always has beautiful elephant ears so I decided to get them as well. Loved how the pots turned out!
So there you have it! What flowering planter is your fave? Do you have a green thumb?
Have a terrific weekend! XO
