Saint Laurent just showed its SS24 menswear show in Berlin and it was a slick continuation of my favourite recent Saint Laurent women’s show.
Sharp, tailored silhouettes with monumental shoulders and mucho fluid drapery accessorised with hi-shine, heeled boots and glam aviators, it’s disrupting the gender norms conversation in the most elegant and refined way possible. (A few bigger bodies wouldn’t go amiss though.)
“Does putting womenswear on a man take power away from him?” asks Anthony Vaccarello. “No, because in fact, now, it’s not a question of power: It’s a question of feeling good in the garment and of owning it.…It was putting a woman’s power on men.” Read more here and watch the show here* or here.
