I’m doing a little winter warm layering with a suede shirt dress as a jacket. Is it shirt dress or shirtdress? I’ve seen it both ways and was curious. The inspiration for this look came from the many bloggers that do this trick of wearing a dress as a jacket. I have no idea why it took me so long to try it with this shirt dress that I purchased last year. Yes people, I actually shopped my closet!

Suede Shirt Dress as a Jacket
This suede shirt dress was one of my favorite looks from last year. I’m so glad I finally styled it a different way so I can bring it back. I really like the structure of this dress. (Why I didn’t have Melissa take a shot of the back frustrates me a little. There are some really flattering seams.) The tailored fit is great when wearing it by itself. But that really helps when you wear it open like I am here. To keep the look exciting, I added my pretty printed Dries Van Noten blouse underneath. This blouse has been in my closet for over 12 years! I can’t get over the print and wish I could recreate the colors and print in my art journaling! I kept the bottom simple with my new favorite black pants.
Heading in a New Direction
Is there something in the air that is making people take a step back and find a new way? I feel many around me are taking a look at their life and making major changes. I also feel like I need to move in a new direction. My flute has really become an important part of my life and I want it to be front and center moving forward. I also feel like my art journaling is improving and I want to keep going in that direction as well. So glad that I have combined these two in my new program. So what does that mean for my fashion blogging? I think it means that I need to dial it down a bit. I am not saying that I won’t continue blogging. I love it too much. But the amount of blogging will significantly change.
I’m thinking right now that I will do one post a week. All of you are so used to my consistent Monday – Wednesday – Friday schedule. (I’ve been doing that for over 10 years now!) What day of the week do you think is best traffic wise? Do you like early in the week or do you prefer later like on a Thursday? I’m thinking either Tuesday or Thursday. Thoughts?
Of course I will post more if I feel like it. I will not be rigid and feel like I have to fit everything in one post each week.
Have you made some major changes recently? I would love to hear about it in the comments.
Have a fantastic weekend my friends! XO
