Foreign Nationals
In order for Foreign Nationals to enter the United States by air, the following is required:
Proof of full vaccination* against COVID-19 using vaccines approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as vaccines that have been approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO). Mixed doses of approved vaccines are also acceptable. This policy applies to all international arrivals regardless of mode of transport. Private air charters are not exempt.
Travellers can also expect to be asked for additional information to be used by the CDC and public health officials for contact tracing if required.
U.S. Citizens, U.S. Nationals, and U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents
There are no special requirements related to COVID-19 for U.S. Citizens, U.S. Nationals, and U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents entering the U.S. as of June 12, 2022. There is no requirement to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
Notes:
*Fully vaccinated means the last dose of an approved vaccine (single dose of an accepted single-dose COVID-19 vaccine, or second dose of an accepted 2-dose series COVID-19 vaccine) was administered at least two weeks prior to travel.
On May 7, 2021 the CDC updated its Order to allow self-administered COVID tests (home or rapid tests) to qualify for international arrivals to the U.S. Please consult the CDC website for guidance on home tests which are allowed.
Children under 18 will not be required to be fully vaccinated.
Unvaccinated foreign nationals, for whom there a very limited exemptions, need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 24 hours of departing. In the case of any exemption, unvaccinated foreign nationals need to be vaccinated if they intend to remain in the United States for more than 60 days (except if they are under 18 years of age).
