It’s not all about the past. At Watches & Wonders this year, it was easy to spot Mr. Dufour’s daughter, Danièla, a young watchmaker herself, clad in a bright-red suit (that matched her mother and father’s outfit). Underneath the cuff of that red suit, you might’ve caught a glimpse of her “school watch” – her very own Simplicity:
“Started at the age of 15, this was Danièla Dufour’s ‘school watch.’ Working in her father’s workshop on the weekends while attending watchmaking school at École Technique de la Vallée de Joux, Danièla finished this watch back in 2021 at the young age of 20, just before her graduation. It’s a beautiful rose gold case with the quintessential Dufour black dial, 3, 9, and 12 Arabic numerals, and central guilloché with a sunk sub-seconds dial. But it’s the movement where she put her mark.”
