I think it’s imperative at this point to point out that this watch is sub-$2,000 – like, very sub, coming in at $1,650. This price, paired with the heritage of Vulcain, the use of ceramic, and the attention to detail in both case & dial design, are what makes this such an intriguing value play. I won’t say this is a competitor for watches like the Tudor Black Bay (Fifty-Four or Fifty-Eight), but… it could be. The Tudors are still utilizing aluminum bezel inserts in their vintage-inspired lineup. And it’s not like Vulcain is a micro brand. It has heritage and history up there with the best in the business.
