The Panda Mini, a popular urban EV from Chinese automaker Geometry, has gained a reputation for its cute and quirky design. At the Shanghai Auto Show, the brand took it a step further by launching the Panda Mini Little Yellow Duck Limited Edition, which features a playful duck-themed design both inside and out. The car’s unique style is sure to appeal to Gen Z drivers, who appreciate individuality and creativity in their vehicles.
The livery is inspired by one of the three main characters of a cartoon called W.T. Duck (What The Duck). While the front end of the Panda looks like an animal, the face of the duck appears on the driver’s side door, while its eyes and beak are printed on the other side. The exterior is painted yellow of course, with special tri-spoke wheels resembling a duck’s palmate feet. Finally, W.T. Duck lettering can be found on the rear fenders in two different fonts.
Stepping inside, the playful theme continues with a combination of yellow and black leather-like upholstery, complete with duck cartoons scattered throughout the cabin. The car is equipped with a 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen, air conditioning, electric windows, an audio system, and a panoramic sunroof.
Like the regular Panda Mini, the W.T. Duck special edition is available with two battery options and two power outputs. The car comes with either a 9.61 kWh or 17.03 kWh battery, and the single electric motor produces either 27 hp (20 kW / 27 PS) or 40 hp (30 kW / 41 PS). The electric range varies depending on the battery and powertrain configuration, with a range of 120 km (75 miles) or 200 km (124 miles) under CLTC protocols. Remember that this is a tiny EV, measuring 3,065mm (120.6 inches) long with a 2,015mm (79.3 inches) wheelbase.
The special edition is available to order in China, priced between ¥53,900 and ¥56,900. For context, the regular Panda Mini EV starts from ¥39,900, making the W.T. Duck version the most expensive one in the lineup. The competition in China includes the popular Wuling Mini EV, and an array of similarly-sized EVs including the FengGuang Mini EV, the Chery QQ Ice Cream, and the BAW Yuanbao.
