This festive season, Moët & Chandon transforms W Kuala Lumpur into a celebratory haven and unveils a captivating limited-edition bottle designed to amp up the celebration.
This year, the Maison is excited to unveil a special limited-edition bottle that honours the distinct terroir of the area as the celebration of the 280th anniversary of the Maison comes to an end. Every priceless drop of this year’s unique holiday present has the essence of a marvellous transformation that begins serenely in December.
The gold-and-white limited edition bottle features gilded grains rising to the sky, perhaps pulled to the clouds by magic. This dreamy dance is a reflection of the bubbly bubbles that float to the top of a champagne glass. For 280 years, Moët & Chandon has called the rolling hills of Epernay, a village renowned for its exceptional terroir, home. The grains meticulously follow the linear outlines of these undulating landscapes. The packaging of this limited edition product showcases the same level of craftsmanship, making it an ideal holiday present. It features golden, flowing patterns on a textured white background, evoking the House’s chalky cellars.
The new limited-edition design adorns two collections in Moët & Chandon’s champagne portfolio: the signature Moët Impérial, and the delicate Moët Rosé Impérial.
The house’s signature champagne, Moët Impérial, has a well-balanced bouquet composed of equal parts reserve wines from the two years prior and same-year wines, resulting in a blend of roughly 100 to 150 different wines in a champagne that genuinely embodies the essence of the Champagne area. 7 grams per litre is the maximum dosage for light freshness, which balances fruitiness and acidity to perfection. It goes well with roasted meat with fine herbs in an olive oil-based jus, roasted sea bass in a gingered cucumber broth, or crunchy prawn tempura with a caviar cream sauce served with garden vegetables.
About 45% Pinot Noir (of which 10% is still red wine), 40% Meunier (of which 10% is still red wine), and 15% Chardonnay are combined to create the vibrant and fruity Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial, with a dosage of no more than 9 grammes per litre. Its exquisite balance is accomplished by using more Meunier and less Pinot Noir to create more supple and round red wines. This Rosé goes perfectly with simple, colourful, but very flavourful foods like red meats that are grilled or served raw, red tuna, crustaceans, legumes, and black olives.
“Every season holds a unique allure for the dedicated winemakers of Moët & Chandon, and the year’s end resonates most profoundly with us artisans of wine. It marks the finale of our year-long collaboration with nature itself, to bring the joy of a golden champagne to the world.”
Benoît Gouez, Cellar Master at Moët & Chandon
