Next Yacht Group model headed for East Coast this spring.
The new 25.4-meter (83-foot) AB80 speedster is the entry level in her range and shares the captivating design and state-of-the-art technologies of all other AB Yachts models. She has a top speed of over 55 knots and a cruising speed of 45. Her limited draft allows her to cruise in shallow waters and her consumption is kept low thanks to her reduced displacement and efficient construction approach and propulsion. She can be easily driven by her owner, who is free to decide whether to enjoy a long cruise with his family and friends or use her as a luxury day-boat. All onboard areas have been custom-designed and fitted out exclusively by the Next Group’s Centro Stile to the taste and requirements of her owner with an eye to the yacht’s specific intended uses.
This AB80 has a very practical layout, without detriment to volumes, brightness and style. The galley, fitted with heavy duty appliances, is on the main deck and opens on one side onto a dining area seating eight guests, and on the other, directly onto the aft cockpit.
The result, thanks to fully conceivable sliding doors, is a uniquely versatile space, ideal not only to cook food, but also to make cocktails or sip a beer with appetizers while watching a football game on the large TV screen installed in the salon. A custom-made sofa completes the lounge area, while the up-and-down TV system divides it from the pilothouse, enabling guests to enjoy entertainment as well as privacy.
The main-deck configuration allows for four guest cabins on the lower deck: an aft full-beam master stateroom, a spacious VIP suite forward, and two twin cabins amidships, one of which features sliding beds that can be converted into one double-size bed.
The large sunbathing areas in the aft and fore cockpits, and on the fly deck, as well as a 12,000-watt stereo system will offer the owner and his guests unforgettable moments, be it a party with other yachts on one of Miami’s sandbars, at anchor, on a beach in the Bahamas, or on a pleasant cruise in the Hamptons. The large aft garage is equipped to store two PWC, which can be easily lowered into, and recovered from the water thanks to a slide system.
The AB80 is this year’s first AB Yachts model built for the American market. It will soon be joined by the AB120, which will make its official world debut just in the U.S.
“The secret of AB Yachts success in the USA is certainly our great focus on the specific needs of American owners in terms of functional and versatile layouts and technical solutions aimed at making the most of their lifestyle and offering maximum comfort both when cruising and at anchor,” says Next Yacht Group’s CEO Gennaro Candida De Matteo. “Owners are, however, increasingly attracted also by the ’emotional’ style we capture in our products: the adrenaline of speed, maximum safety and maneuverability even in the steepest turns, a very limited draft—a crucial feature to cruise in Florida or to literally rest the bow on a beach in the Bahamas, and the sense of wellbeing that pervades the bright, welcoming interiors. All features that reflect our core mission: to stir emotions.”
